The Snowman to be screened with live choir and orchestra at The New Theatre in Peterborough, December 2019.




The classic animated film, The Snowman, will be brought to life with live music at The New Theatre in The Broadway, Peterborough, this December.

Presented by the Peterborough Music Hub, a live youth orchestra will perform the soundtrack and narration alongside the screening of the film.

It's on Wednesday, December 4, at 6.30pm.

The Snowman is based on the children's picture book by Raymond Briggs.

It tells the story of a boy making a snowman on Christmas Eve, which then comes to life and takes him on an adventure to the North Pole to meet Father Christmas.

Its famous song 'Walking in the Air' was sung in the film by chorister Peter Auty and later covered and released by Welsh chorister Aled Jones.

Tickets are priced at £8 per person.

This year's panto at The New Theatre is The Wizard of Oz, starring Strictly Come Dancing Champion Katya Jones as Glinda. It's on from Saturday, December 14. Tickets cost from £12-£24.50.
