Gosberton Septemberfest 2021 will kick off next weekend
It’s nearly time – Gosberton Septemberfest will officially kick off next weekend.
From September 17-19, St Peter and St Paul’s Parish Church will play host to some brilliant entertainment.
Liz Lenten, one of the festival’s organisers, is itching for it to get started.
“Everyone’s just so excited, really,” she said.
“It’s getting there, there’s just so much going on.”
On the Friday, music will play a key part from 7pm-11pm. A choir will perform its first show since lockdowns began in March of last year, while folk party band Cross the Tracks and the Conroy Irish dancing group will be on stage.
Auburn Acoustic are also warming up for their UK tour by performing at the church.
For the Friday night ticket, you will pay £20 – which will get you a free drink and access to the licensed bar.
Fellow organiser Patrick Hughes told the Spalding Guardian last month: “We haven’t asked any of the bands or such to do anything for free, because we understand there have been lockdowns and this is their chance to get some publicity and make a few bob.
“It’ll help to provide some entertainment inside what is a beautiful old building.”
Tickets for the Saturday will be £2 on the door, with children under 12 getting in for free.
“There will be lots of things for kids, like face painting and artwork and things like that,” Patrick said.
“There will be some stalls and people with their own stands. I know one local girl who makes her own handbags, and she’ll have her stall there.
“There will be a historical treasure hunt, and a bit of children’s cinema. We’ll have a church tour as well, which will be quite interesting because it dates back to about the 12th century.
Sunday will be headlined by folk music stars Martin and Eliza Carthy, who will be playing two exclusive acoustic sets between 3pm-6pm.
Sunday tickets will cost £20, while you can also purchase a full weekend ticket for £30.
