The Old King's Head in Kirton is ready to open and will be offering tours through Heritage Lincolnshire
The Old King’s Head in Kirton is nearly ready to open to the public - and a series of walking tours are now available to book.
The former town eyesore has been transformed into a boutique B&B under the careful supervision of operations manager Vicky Smith and Heritage Lincolnshire, who own the historic building.
And starting from November, you will be able to embark on tours of Kirton and receive a slice of cake when you arrive back at the King’s Head.
Tickets will cost £8 for Heritage Lincolnshire members, and non-members paying £10. All funds raised will be re-invested with Heritage Lincolnshire to help with their buildings preservation work across the county.
Cake and a cup of tea or coffee are included in this price.
Heritage Lincolnshire business manager Hannah Thompson is excited to get things up and running. with the King’s Head officially opening tomorrow (Friday).
“At the moment, we’re 100% ready to go,” she said.
“We’re looking forward to finally opening because this has been a long project on site, obviously with the pandemic in between.
“We are ready to rock and roll, as some people might say.
“The cafe area is open as of Friday, October 1, and the B&B side of things will be open on Monday October 4.
“I think it’s going to be a crazy weekend, so I think we’ll let the team focus on the cafe side of things for a few days before the B&B opens.
“We have got a fabulous team. I’m really chuffed with the team Vicky has put together.
“I think all of the team are locals, which is really nice.
“We’ve got a fantastic volunteer team who are doing the walking tours and helping us in the cafe.
“The community have also come together to help us, which is fantastic.
“Everyone is really excited, and we just want it open now.”
