Holbeach St Nicholas Fayre and Light Extravaganza 2019: Here's what to see this year

Holbeach will be awash with colour and light as the St Nicholas Fayre and Light Extravaganza takes place on Friday, November 29 and Saturday, 30.

The town's All Saints Church will be lit up with Christmas card scenes projected onto the tower; and other buildings in the town will also be in lights.

A new addition this year includes a children's lantern parade on the Friday evening.

Chair of the festival's organising committee, Jane Francis, said: "Five primary schools are involved in the parade - William Stukeley, Holbeach Primary Academy, Fleet Wood Lane Primary School, Holbeach Bank and Holbeach St Marks. Funding from the Tesco Bags of Help scheme has enabled us to get professional artists to work with the schools and children.

"The event is more something for the whole community than just a Christmas fair."

On the Friday, the festival opens at 5pm, with craft and gift stalls in the church; and specialist suppliers of food and drink in the Church Street area.

At 6pm, the lantern parade sets off from the Reading Rooms in Church Street and heads up and around the church, via Church Walk.

The event closes at 9pm and runs again from 10am until 9pm on the Saturday.

Charity shop, Chosen, has generously helped towards a silent family disco, at a venue yet to be announced; and free UV face painting will be available.
