First ever flower festival at St Polycarps Church in Holbeach Drove

St Polycarps Church in Holbeach Drove holds its first themed flower festival.

The small church, formerly a school, holds the festival over Saturday and Sunday (June 29 and 30) from 10am-4pm both days. There is a benefice Songs of Praise at around 4.30pm on the Sunday.

In celebration of the historic Victorian Mission School, which opened in 1870 on the site, the festival’s theme is ‘schooldays’. (The old school desks are still used as pews inside).

The church will have been decorated by local florists and there will be displays from the Brownies and craft groups, all around the ‘schooldays’ theme.

A poetry competition, to tie in with the theme, will be judged on Sunday.

Refreshments are provided both days with a barbecue and stalls in the grounds. Tickets for a grand prize draw raffle with cash prizes are available on the day.
