A cast of more than 400 youngsters are taking to the stage at Spalding’s South Holland Centre from Thursday, July 12, until Sunday, July 15, to perform Hatched!

An original adaptation of the classic tale of The Ugly Duckling, it brings together song, 40 different dances and drama.

The performers are all students at the Spalding School of Dance, based at CB Studios in Rangell Gate, and are aged from two and a half up to 19.

Studio owner Clare Patman penned the new adaptation of the tale of a lonely ‘ugly duckling’ on the search for new friends.

She said: “The students have been rehearsing for 12 weeks. Tickets have sold really well and this is our first performance since we have moved to our new site.

“I wrote the story myself as an adaptation of the original story. I have added a few bits and bobs in and tweaked it to be able to get all of the dances in.”

Each performance will run for about two hours and tickets are available from the South Holland Centre.

Shows are at 6pm on Thursday and Friday, 11am and 4pm on Saturday, and 11am and 4pm on Sunday.

Book via www.southhollandcentre.co.uk; on 01775 764777 or in person.
