Erasure - Neon: Album preview
Oh, welcome back Erasure! This is the band we know and love so well returning to their very best.
After taking a more melancholy and darker route with their previous album ‘World Be Gone’ they have come back with the bright, electronic pop sound that scored them hit after hit in the ’ 80s and through to the early 2000s.
Their latest single ‘Hey Now (Think I Got a Feeling), is a feel-good breath of fresh air from Andy Bell and Vince Clarke – and just what is needed in these current, strange times.
It is taken from their forthcoming ten track
album and 18th studio outing ‘Neon’.
The duo say that the album is in part born from their own recent personal projects.
“Our music is always a reflection of how we’re feeling. He (Andy) was in a good place spiritually, and so was I – really good places in our minds. You can hear that,” says Vince.
And taking inspiration from pop music through the decades, from bands Andy loved as a child through to the present day, he adds: “It was about refreshing my love – hopefully our love – of great pop. I want kids now to hear these songs! I wanted to recharge that feeling that pop can come from anyone.”
The album is out via Mute on August 21, and is also available as pre-order exclusives on limited edition formats, vinyl, to download and stream.
