New choir leader to take baton for South Holland Singers' annual Christmas concert in Spalding next weekend
South Holland Singers will be performing their annual Christmas concert with a new conductor at the helm next weekend.
Samantha Graper, head of music at University Academy Holbeach, will be leading the choir in singing John Rutter's Magnificat at St John the Baptist Church, Hawthorn Bank, Spalding, on Saturday, December 8, at 7.30 pm.
The programme will also include O Magnum Mysterium' by American composer Morten Lauridsen, as well traditional Christmas carols for the audience to join in with.
Miss Graper, also founder and leader of the Mirinesse Singers women's choir in October 2015, takes over as interim musical director of the South Holland Singers after Geoff Ellerby, who only took up the role in January, resigned unexpectedly in the summer.
Tickets for Saturday's concert, priced £10 in advance but free for students, are available from Bookmark Spalding in The Crescent or The Flower Basket, Fleet Street, Holbeach, or call 01775 760757.
Alternatively, tickets cost £12 at the door.
