Musicians from the Ukulele Orchestra of Spalding gave an “impromptu” concert to pupils at the town’s Garth School during a special assembly on Friday.

The concert was part of a special assembly during which the school was presented with a cheque for £500 raised from donations made at the orchestra’s concerts over the last year.

Orchestra member Jo Baguley said: “The Garth School was one of the orchestra’s nominated charities and so we gave its staff £500 at the school’s Good Works Assembly.

“We also had an impromptu sing-a-long after the cheque presentation which made it a really nice afternoon and the school made us very welcome.”
