Unique Cottage Studios in Spalding staging Mindfulness Weekend
Unique Cottage Studios in Spalding is to stage its first Mindfulness Weekend this Saturday and Sunday.
The Art Of Mindfulness is two days of inspiring talks, art and craft demonstrations and workshops designed to help us relax, recharge and get creative.
The event, at the at Fulney Lane South studio, is to calm your mind and help you learn how the power of creativity and crafting can help you reap the mental health benefits of being in the moment.
Visitors to the event, running from 10am to 4pm each day, can chat to artists in residence, watch a variety of art and crafts demonstrations, take part in a selection of mini workshops and hear a range of speakers.
The onsite café will be open on the Saturday. Admission to this mindfulness weekend is free, with a small charge for selected workshops.
Joining UCS’s resident artists will be leading mindfulness expert, holistic therapist and teacher Kate Beddow from Stafford who will run two sessions – one for adults and one for kids.
Kate specialises in working with teachers and schools, focusing on energy, mindfulness and relaxation skills.
On Sunday, visitors are invited to take part in a ‘Stitch and Bitch’ workshop and talk with Jenny Wood.
Jenny will introduce us to the concept of using creativity to reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
Other speakers throughout the weekend include Asha Clearwater, a former journalist and editor, who divides her time between her work as a reiki healer and shamanic practitioner and coaching local business people on creating amazing content to promote their services. Asha will talk and lead a free workshop on creative writing. Bring along your own notebook and pen and dive in.
