The Amazing Adventures of Eric, the Christmas Angel, soars into Spalding

By Spalding Reporter

A brand new 'laugh-out-loud' show will be performed at Spalding Parish Church (St Mary and St Nicolas) this Christmas, telling the classic nativity story with a unique twist that is both hilarious and moving, writes Patrick Walsh.

Sponsored by Churches Together in Spalding and District, The Amazing Adventures of Eric the Christmas Angel, tells the story of angels travelling to spread the news of the birth of Jesus.

But Eric, a trainee angel, just can’t seem to get the story right and ends up telling ridiculous stories that will leave the audience in stitches.

It features Duggie Dug Dug (Dough Horley) with puppets Harry and Larry who each play different roles in this story.

“The Churches in Spalding decided we wanted to get Christmas off to a good start by sponsoring a great show for families to enjoy and think about how it all began,” said Rev John Bennett.

“Duggie Dug Dug is energetic and funny. He makes audiences cry with laughter.”

This show features classic carols, dancing and brand new songs that are certain to lift spirits and get your feet tapping along to complement the special effects and lighting that will be used throughout the show.

It takes place at the church in Halmer Gate on Saturday, December 1, at 4pm.

Tickets are £6.50 and family tickets (four or more including up to two adults) are £5.50, available from the South Holland Centre on 01775 764777, in person or via www.southhollandcentre.co.uk
