More news, no ads

There won’t be any time for boredom this summer thanks to a theatre company’s holiday activities.

Spalding based Act II will be putting on a number of drama and music based activities which are certain to keep youngsters entertained throughout the summer.

First on the agenda is a ‘Mad About Creepy Crawlies’ event.

Aimed at 5-7 year olds, the event takes on Monday, July 26 where activities will revolve around a minibeast theme.

There will be games, drama and music activities and youngsters will even have the chance to handle wiggly worms and slithering snails.

From July 28 to July 31, 15-18 year olds will be able to spend three days working together in a fast paced environment to create three performances during Breakfast Theatre.

The performances will be based around varying styles, including verbatim theatre, melodrama and absurdist theatre, and each will be performed the following morning.

Performances will be free to attend, with tea and toast on offer too.

Finally, from August 2 to August 6, 8-14 year olds can take part in the ‘Show in a Week Workshop’ where they will put together a shortened version of Disney’s much loved High School Musical.

The week will then culminate in a performance of the show - at a venue which will soon be confirmed - and all participants will receive their own t-shirt and book script to keep forever.

All of the activity sessions will be run from the theatre group’s studio base in Clay Lake.

Due to continuing Covid guidelines for young people’s activities, numbers are limited so early booking is essential.

Those who are already Act II members can book via Parentmail and anyone outside of the Act II family is welcome to message to book.

Act II can be contacted by emailing info@act2online.co.uk or via their Facebook page - Act II Theatre Company.
