Christmas lights switch-on and festive fairs in Crowland this weekend

By Spalding Reporter

There's plenty of festive fun in Crowland this Saturday (December 1) as Christmas swiftly approaches.

It starts with the St Nicholas Craft Fair in the Abbey from 10am until 3pm which includes everything from vintage items and collectables to mince pies and home-made food. Perhaps try some mulled wine and hot soup.

Plus, there will be background seasonal music to really get the feeling of Christmas going. As you soak up the atmosphere you may even pick up some ideas for Christmas gifts while browsing the stalls.

Entry costs 50p, and all profits will go to the Abbey funds.

The festive spirit continues at the street fair from 3pm in North Street. Be advised that the road will be closed to traffic from 1pm as the fair sets up.

There will be a range of stalls from local groups and businesses, plus barbecue and seasonal food.

And the youngsters can visit Santa in his grotto in the former Nikoni’s shop in South Street.

Then, at 5pm, it's the big lights switch-on.

Entry to the event is free. To book a stall call 01733 210653 or email: crowland.pc@btconnect.com
