IN THE COMMUNITY: Tug of War fun returns to Pinchbeck Carnival this weekend
A weekly column by Jan Whitbourn of Tulip Events Management
This weekend’s Pinchbeck Carnival is ready to start on Friday (June 7) with the ever popular bingo in the marquee, starting at 7pm.
On Saturday in the arena, the main act will be The Essex Dog Display Team, along with the Breaston Highlanders and Diamondz Dance. Carnival Parade Queen, Abigail Slade and her assistants, Samuel Start and Gabriella Santana will lead the parade from noon.
The floats this year will have the theme of ‘Careers’ which will give many local organisations much material to draw on and there are prizes for the best floats which creates a big competition amongst the village.
One of the biggest highlights of the day and the finale is the ‘Tug of War’ competition. Many strong dads and stall holders take part to test their strengths; we had to open it up to the children last year who were desperate to join in and the competition is high!
If you would like to take part in the competition please give me a call on 07779 895388 or email email@example.com; We are always looking for more teams to join in the fun to add to a memorable day.
On Sunday, June 9, the carnival festivities will conclude with a combined church service at 10.30am followed by lunch.
