Summer 2019 holiday activities in the Spalding area
As the school holidays are now well and truly here, these are a few ideas of things to do with the children.
On Friday (August 2), pop over to Spalding Library to help build a 'ginormous' space station made of Lego from 9am-5pm.
Or try Red Granny's Recreation Workshops at Broad Street Methodist Church, Spalding, with poetry, storytelling, arts, crafts, music and dance. Book on 07486 647664.
At Springfields in Spalding, there is live entertainment with Dino the Dinosaur as he takes to the stage with party tricks until Sunday.
Also at Springfields, from August 5 -11 it's a beach-themed party with twice daily shows from acrobatic and tumbling gymnast Backflip Ben.
August 12-18 is Goldie's Treasure Hunt, a brand-new live show and August 19-26 is superhero week, featuring Captain Calamity.
At the South Holland Centre in Spalding there's a chance to catch showings of films Toy Story 4 until August 8 and Spider-Man: Far From Home (Aug 5-9).
On August 8, Spalding drama group Act II hosts a Pirate and Princesses adventure workshop for ages 4-7. It runs from 10am-3pm with a small performance to family and friends at the end.
From August 9-15, the animation The Queen's Corgi is showing.
And from August 12-16, there's a five day Peter Pan workshop for children aged 7-14 led by Act II, with a performance on the Friday.
The live action remake of the Disney Classic The Lion King is showing from August 16-22.
From August 19 Act II runs the workshop The Musical Adventures of Robin Hood, culminating in a performance.
A fun filled circus themed day at Ayscoughfee Hall and Gardens is on August 21 from noon.
Horrible Histories: The Movie, is showing from August 24 and have a go at building a robotic Lego animal in a themed day on August 28.
Also at the centre, Act II leads a day of drama on August 30, based on the Hans Christian Anderson tale The Emperor's New Clothes and Playmobil: The Movie shows from August 30.
