Halloween 2020 in the Spalding area: Here's what is planned...
While traditional trick and treating is out this year due to COVID, there are still a few events on the cards in the area to mark Halloween.
At Tonic 44 Community Cafe in Surfleet, COVID-19 safety precautions are in place to allow its Spooktacular Halloween Event to take place on Friday, October 30.
There’ll be pumpkin carving and plenty of fun on offer from 12.30pm until 2.30pm at the cafe in Station Road.
Spaces are limited in order to follow COVID-19 precautions with each session one hour long.
Cafe manager Elise Page said: “We have tables outdoors but if we need to be indoors we can be. We’ll be following social distancing.”
Four tables are available for each session in a bubble of six. Tables need to be booked for a non-refundable deposit of £5. The event itself is free of charge.
The winner of the ‘Best Pumpkin’ will receive a special ‘Halloween treat’, with the pumpkins and equipment provided by the cafe.
Everyone attending in Halloween fancy dress can pick between a ‘trick or treat’.
The team at the cafe is also putting together special Halloween ‘Trick or Treat Movie Boxes’ with pick and mix, popcorn, snacks and a non-alcoholic/soft drinks option or an adult option with beer and wine.
“We know it’s so hard for the kids this year, so we’ve decided to put together these Halloween boxes so they can have a movie night at home,” Mrs Page added.
“We’ll be delivering them to the Gosberton, Pinchbeck and Surfleet area.”
The boxes can be ordered from now to be delivered between 4-7pm on Halloween (Saturday, October 31). Call the cafe on 01775 680006.
Also in the area, The Black Bull pub in Donington has a Halloween quiz night on Monday, October 26, from 7pm (bookings only).
And from Monday, October 26, for a week (until Halloween night), the historic Sessions House in Spalding will be transformed into an immersive ‘House of Horrors.’
