Gosberton Summer Fair will take the village by storm this weekend

A Gosberton summer fair is set to take the village by storm this weekend.

From 10.30am until 4pm this Sunday, Gosberton Playing Field will play host to a wide variety of fun activities.

Rev Ian Walters is chairman of the Gosberton Community Action Team, who are spearheading the event, and he can’t wait for things to get started.

“We’ve got lots of local crafters’ events and competitions, and children’s sports games going on,” he said.

“There will be vintage cars, lots of local vintage farm machinery and a steam traction engine.

“We’ll have a bouncy castle, refreshments, competitions and face painting.

“It’s about the fifth year we’ve done it, although we didn’t last year for obvious reasons.

“We’ve got lots of people involved. Spalding Rotary Club are helping us to marshal the traffic and things.

“It’s organised by our local community action team, and the parish council has let us use the playing field for the event.

“There will be some money raised which will basically go to local charities.

“We support local good neighbour schemes, we support food banks, and we support any other charities that we think are doing good work. Hopefully the locals do the same.”
