Flinders Founders Winter Wonderland in Donington, Italian night at Elizabethan Social Club, veterans champion's thank you party and Long Sutton Christmas events

Step into a winter wonderland this weekend at Donington’s Flinders Founders’ event.

This Sunday from 3-7pm, there will be a light spectacular in the Flinders Teen Park at Town Dam Lane.

Organisers are hoping to have a stall with animals, a snow machine, refreshments and games - and Father Christmas will be in attendance.

Margaret Wright, one of the people behind the event, said: “The field is going to look spectacular with lots of lights.”

On Saturday, you can take a trip to the Elizabethan Centre Social Club for Martin and Helen’s Italian night.

Doors open at 6.30pm at the Parsons Lane venue in Whaplode Drove, with service kicking off from 7.30pm.

Elsewhere on Saturday evening, the Long Sutton Royal British Legion is welcoming entertainer Kenny Rich.

The singer and guitarist will get his show under way at 8.30pm at West Street.

Come Sunday and veterans champion Harold Payne will be hosting a special event at the Anglia Motel.

He will be paying thanks to everyone who attended his Remembrance parade in Holbeach.

It will take place from 2-4pm.

Next weekend (December 12), Long Sutton Parish Council will be hosting a range of Christmas-themed activities for people of all ages.
