2019 in 'Revue': Spalding's Act II perform a satirical look back at the year
It's that time again, when Act II Theatre Company performs its always outrageously funny annual 'Revue'.
Looking back on the happenings of 2019, the team have 'another rich tapestry of news and events to mock and have a laugh about.'
Director Karl Gernert, Penelope Harrall, Dominique Spinks and Jo Wheatley, will make up the cast, with plenty of costumes and 'some appalling wigs'.
The show will be held a week later than usual, due to the General Election, which has required some last minute script additions, according to Karl.
"The year has given us plenty of material," he explained. "It's local, national and global news, just lampooned in a very satirical and silly way.
"There'll be a mention to Fireman Sam, and the Lincs Fire and Rescue Service; it's not been a quiet news year.
"There has been plenty of Brexit and the General Election being in the usual week of the show. Last year, we had something similar when Theresa May had her no confidence vote. But it's not all political.
"There are some celebrities mentioned with Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney's Twitter spat and we have the annual death song, a tribute to people who have died. Pilgrim Hospital also makes an appearance."
- The show takes place at the Act II Studio, Unit 1, Welland Business Park, Clay Lake, in Spalding, from December 18-19 at 8pm and December 20-21 at 7pm and 9pm. Tickets are £5 from 01775 766921, via social media, or email at: firstname.lastname@example.org
The show contains strong language and adult themes.
