Cars, bars and sporting adventures at Cowbit's Fun on the Field 2019
There’s plenty for families to do at Cowbit’s Fun on the Field event on Saturday, August 31, including a vintage car show.
There will be sports competitions at the event – which starts at 3pm on the village playing field – including children’s races, plus arena events, face painting, fairground rides and a bouncy castle.
Families are being encouraged to think of those less fortunate than themselves and bring food and toiletries to the stall accepting donations for Holbeach Community Larder.
Stall organiser Mark Popple previously told Spalding Today: “Our foodbanks in South Holland are facing absolutely unprecedented demand and, as such, we are asking anyone planning to attend Fun on the Field to donate non-perishable items to Holbeach Community Larder.”
There will be hot and cold refreshment stalls as well as a cake stall and a beer tent at the fun event on the village playing field.
The weather is currently forecast to be sunny and warm, great for the event celebrating the end of the summer holidays.
One of the event organisers, James Wilson-White, said: “We are expecting around 100 cars, including sports cars and military vehicles, although the field has a capacity for 200 – so anyone with classic or unusual vehicles can turn up on the day.
“As someone with an interest in motor cars I have connections to the Spalding Car Club and have let them know to bring their cars.”
Other local clubs near Peterborough and King’s Lynn were contacted through Facebook and leaflets were given out at the Wings and Wheels event in Holbeach St Johns.
After 7pm Molly’s Chamber Rock Band will put on live music, with a licensed bar and food available while visitors enjoy the performance.
