South Holland District Council's Christmas Celebration will fly into Spalding this weekend
Christmas celebrations are set to fly into South Holland for a weekend of fun.
South Holland District Council’s Christmas Celebration is coming to Spalding on December 3 and 4, and will be packed full of stalls, games, rides, attractions and much more.
Councillor Gary Taylor, South Holland District Council portfolio holder for communities and facilities, said: “I am really looking forward to the Christmas Celebration in Spalding this weekend, and cannot wait to see everyone getting involved in the festivities and some of the fantastic activities, stalls and performing acts on offer.
“We are delighted to be able to put on such a great event that residents and visitors can enjoy for free. Across Friday and Saturday there’s something on offer for people of all ages, and I would encourage everyone to come down and celebrate together, whilst helping our local businesses and traders who so depend on our support at this important time of year.”
Friday’s festivities will run from 4pm until 8pm, with live musical entertainment, a fancy-dress competition and live street entertainment - provided by Polka Dot Pantomimes and Rhubarb Theatre.
Additional seasonal stalls will be in the town alongside a festive food court, Santa’s sleigh, vintage fair rides, Christmas crafts and games, balloon modelling, the Rock School Bus.
There will also be a chance to meet Elsa and Olaf from the hit film Frozen.
The evening will conclude with carols by candlelight at 7.30pm and the switching on of the Christmas tree lights.
Come Saturday, from 10am-3pm, Spalding’s market traders will be getting involved. They will be joined by additional craft, gift and food stalls as well as more live music. Street entertainment, fairground games and free arts and crafts activities will also be on offer for families to enjoy.
Photos in Santa’s sleigh and performances from SADOS, Diamondz Dance Troupe and Polka Dot Pantomimes will provide more fun.
