Spalding and district festive events in the run up to Christmas
The district is well and truly gearing up for the festive season, with plenty of Christmas fairs and events around the corner.
On Saturday, November 30, is the Crowland Christmas lights switch-on, with a grand Christmas market and fair in North Street. The market is on from 3pm and the lights will be switched on at 5pm. There will be stalls and food, along with the fair, and Santa will be in his grotto.
Broad Street Methodist Church, in Spalding, once again hosts its annual Christmas Tree Festival, with a Christmas fayre on Saturday, November 30, and Saturday, December 7, from 10am until 2pm. The decorated trees will reflect the meaning of Christmas and donations can be brought for the Agape Care Foodbank.
St John’s Church, in Weston Hills, has a Christmas coffee morning on Saturday, November 30, from 10am-12.30pm.
In Long Sutton, pop along to the festive food fair at the Conservative Club in West Street, from 10am until 3pm, also on November 30.
As reported in last week’s What’s on guide, Holbeach’s St Nicholas Fayre and Light Extravaganza is taking place over Friday, November 29 and Saturday, 30.
There’s a Christmas fair at Pinchbeck Community Library on December 1, from 11am-2pm (in aid of charity Headway Lincolnshire).
Moulton Windmill has a Christmas gift and craft fair on December 1, from 10am until 4pm with handcrafted items for sale.
Crowland Abbey hosts its St Nicholas Craft and Food Fair on Saturday, December 7, from 10am until 4pm. It’s the 15th fair this year and included is musical entertainment throughout the day.
In Spalding town centre and at Ayscoughfee Gardens, there’s a Christmas celebration event on Sunday, December 8, from 10.30am until 4pm.
Santa will be visiting Ayscoughfee and the town centre on his sleigh; vintage rides will be in Ayscoughfee Gardens, with the hall decorated throughout, and more than 40 stalls in Ayscoughfee and the town centre, plus much more.
