SADOS take on The Ladykillers at the South Holland Centre
From ‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’ to ‘Murder Aboard the Titanic!’ Spalding Amateur Dramatic Operatic Society, (SADOS), are back with ‘The Ladykillers,’ writes Patrick Walsh.
It’s being staged at the South Holland Centre in Spalding from Wednesday (November 21) until November 24. Performances are all at 7.30pm.
The dark comedy follows an eccentric widow named Mrs Wilberforce who rents out her London home to a group of amateur musicians.
Little does she know, these ‘amateur musicians’ are actually hardened criminals plotting a complex robbery.
When Mrs Wilberforce finds out too much, the quintet decides to ‘rub her out.’
With nothing but her sick parrot to protect her, will she survive?
Based on the multi-award winning 1955 film of the same name starring Alec Guinness and Cecil Parker, the production gives the audience an insight into the criminals’ mindset and secrecy which builds up to a dramatic conclusion.
Full price tickets are £11, and concessions are £10. Tickets are available from the box office in person by phone or via www.southhollandcentre.co.uk
