Camping is also available on Saturday night for £15, with an electric hook-up available for an extra £5. If you would like to camp, booking is essential.

Denise Foster, the group’s member who spearheaded the Spalding preparations, said: “It’s a social event more than anything.

“We also have people who can help you to solve any problems with your cars that you have.

“So as well as social, it’s helpful. It is a really friendly group.

“Hopefully it’s a nice day for people to get their roofs down and talk about each others’ cars.

“We’re hoping it goes well so we can make it an annual event and that it gets a bit bigger.”

Visitors should bring their own cars along, and voluntary donations will be accepted.

“It’ll go to the veterans at the Anglia Motel, because Harold Payne deals with them and has just asked for a donation towards that.”

The group always have lots of other events on the go.

“In November, there ‘s a group of us going to Blackpool,” said Denise.

“We’re hoping to ride right down to the front and see the Illuminations.”
