Boston festival will be the perfect event for bookworms
Avid readers will be full of joy when a new festival takes place later this year.
The first ever Boston Book Festival is due to be held in September, with a full schedule of events ranging from poetry to chicklit, children’s books to historical fiction and everything in between.
The event, which is planned to take place between September 17 and 19, will give visitors the chance to meet authors, talk about their work, and perhaps be inspired to write their own best-seller.
Authors taking part will include Michael Morpurgo, Milly Johnson, Karen Maitland and Gavin Extence.
As part of the programme, Benjamin Zephaniah will give people the chance to learn more about his life and work in conversation with local playwright and poet Kei Bailey.
There will also be a chat with crime writer Joy Ellis, who uses the area as a backdrop for her gripping novels and was shortlisted for the Book of the Year Fiction, Crime and Thriller Award at the British Book Awards 2021.
Youngsters will able to join the the fun and author Aisha Busby will be hosting an event for children aged from 9 – 12 in which they will work together in groups.
All events will be taking place within a small area at venues around Boston’s historic Market Place, including Fydell House, Blackfriars Theatre and the Guildhall.
