Residents will have a chance to put their questions to MPs later this month live on national radio.

Hosted by Chris Mason, BBC Radio 4’s Any Questions? will be broadcast live from Gedney Hill & District Memorial Hall, with some well known faces on the panel.

Author Louis de Bernières will be taking part, along with Robert Jenrick MP, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Newark, who many will recognise as the man who was, until recently, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government.

Nadia Whittome, who is the Labour MP for Nottingham East and is a member of the Environmental Audit Committee, will also be joining the panel.

The programme, which has previously been broadcast from Spalding, travels throughout the United Kingdom, and occasionally to Europe, at the invitation of local organisations, covering a number of interesting and engaging topics.

The audience in attendance submits questions on the day of the broadcast and these are then sifted by the producer who selects ten questions across a range of subjects.

One of the stringent and unchanging rules of Any Questions? is that the panel never sees the questions in advance; the panellists hear them for the first time at the same moment the audience in the hall and at home does.

The programme will be broadcast live on the night and is repeated on Saturday lunchtimes at 1.10pm.

This programme is then followed at 2pm by the Any Answers? phone-in which gives listeners a chance to join in the debate by calling or e-mailing presenter Anita Anand.

Anyone wishing to attend the broadcast will need to register their interest via the event page on website www.eventbrite.co.uk in order to receive a ticket beforehand.

The broadcast starts at 8pm on Friday, January 21, and all ticket holders must be seated by 7.15pm.

The event is subject to Covid regulations and face masks are to be worn.
