THE BIG reality television war between X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing has got the nation talking – and tongues wagging about two women from South Holland.
In last week’s Lincolnshire Free Press we featured Johnny Robinson lookalike Sarah Box, from Broadgate in Weston Hills, who has been stopped in the street due to her likeness for the camp X Factor star.
Since our story Sarah has appeared in The Sun and will be in next week’s Reveal magazine and be featuring on Channel 4 adult comedy show Dirty Digest.
She said: “I actually thought it would be a laugh and a joke and that’s it but it has just gone ‘whoosh’. I don’t mind it though.”
Meanwhile Sandy Walmsley, of Fengate Lane in West Pinchbeck, has also been turning heads for her likeness to ex-Strictly star Nancy Dell’Olio.
She said: “My nickname is ‘Nancy’ and has been since the 2006 World Cup.
“However, since Ms Dell’Olio’s recent appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, I have been stopped in Spalding, King’s Lynn and Downham Market for autographs and have even been given advice on how to dance!
“Unlike Nancy, I can dance, Latin being my best. Friends say I have the same characteristics as Nancy – single, 53, elegant and a glamourpuss!”
Nancy has already danced her last on the BBC One show and Johnny was controversially voted out last weekend, but at time of press it appeared he may have been given a reprieve after Frankie Cocozza was axed this week.
Sarah said: “I was gutted, he shouldn’t have been chucked out at all because he can sing. I think he’s brilliant. He’s had a rough time but we’ll see what happens.”
