School choirs, martial arts, dog show and live music are in the line-up for this year’s Holbeach Community Flower Festival this week.
All Things Bright and Beautiful is the theme for this year’s event which takes place at All Saints Church and the Reading Rooms, Church Street, from Thursday until May Day Bank Holiday Monday.
The church and Reading Rooms will both be open daily from 10am until 5pm when visitors will be able to see an assortment of flower arrangements, art exhibits, dancers, organ recitals and choirs from Holbeach’s three schools.
Organiser Jane Francis said: “The main event is the flower festival itself which is taking place inside the church, with a number of additional exhibitors with us this year.
“The theme is All Things Bright and Beautiful and each display will be themed around one of the lines in the well-known hymm.”
The flower festival was revived in 2014 after a six-year absence and included a concert by students from University Academy Holbeach, along with pupils from Holbeach Primary Academy and William Stukeley Primary School.
All three schools will be performing again at the church on Friday at 6.30pm.
Jane said: “This is a community event brought together and delivered by a number of individuals and organisations within the community, with the intention of bringing the community together.”
