About 4,000 people took advantage of perfect bank holiday weather and poured into Carter’s Park, Holbeach, for the launch of Transported.
The arts-led project aims to get more people involved in creative activities over the next two and a half years and is boosted by a £2.6 million grant from Arts Council England through the National Lottery.
Highlights at Sunday’s launch included a multi-coloured, walk-in luminarium, aerial acrobatics from The Dream Engine Conedancers and Polish choir Cantus Polonicum.
Carol Parker, one of the artists behind Transported, said: “I thought it was amzing and a fantastic culmination of many months of work.
“The people of Holbeach were fantastic with their support and hopefully from that, the project is going in the right direction in giving people what they want.
