High hopes for horror franchise

Have your say

Reviews from the States have been favourable for this possible new horror franchise – with its clever use of spine-tingling dread ahead of the usual gore.

When Kaylie’s (played by ex-Doctor Who star Karen Gillan) brother Tim (Brenton Thwaites) is released from prison after being convicted of the brutal murder of their parents – she’s convinced it was a malevolent force unleashed through an antique mirror that really killed them.

With a cast sporting Brit starlet Gillan – soon to be baddie in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy – Thwaites (who recently played Prince Phillip in Maleficent) and Battlestar Galactica fan-favourite Katie Sackhoff (Riddick), there’s high hopes this can be this year’s The Conjuring.
