THE POUNDING beat of hip-hop music will shake Spalding next week when an all-girl dance group performs in the town.
New York-based Decadance are to showcase their talent at South Holland Centre on Tuesday at 7.30pm as part of their first UK-wide tour.
The group features dancers from Germany, Japan, Nigeria, Norway and the USA. Decadance was formed in 2004 to promote the diversity and energy of hip-hop demonstrated by elements such as breakdancing, graffiti and rapping.
Artistic director and founder of Decadancetheatre Jennifer Weber said: “I’ve always been a really big fan of dance and worked with pop music acts in the past.
“But I got bored with that and wanted to see if I could use hip-hop as a biographical language where the dancers could be the stars of the show.
“People in Spalding can expect a really high-energy, fun experience in the theatre where the role of women in hip-hop will be showcased.”
Tickets for Decadance are available from the box office on 01775 764777.
