An ex-Spalding High School student will carry the hopes of Lincolnshire on her shoulders when she lines up at a beauty pageant later this month.
Alexandra Mount (19) of Cowbit is hoping to add the Face of the Globe North England title to the Miss Lincolnshire crown she won in August.
The aspiring model could face at least 25 other girls for the chance to reach the Face of the Globe Grand Final at Disneyland Paris next April.
Alexandra said: “About two years ago, I did a photoshoot and one of the girls I met there was the reigning Miss Peterborough at the time.
“She was very lovely and recommended a beauty pageant to me called Miss Cambridgeshire which I entered in February.
“Then I entered Miss Peterborough in July and got through to the final where I had an amazing experience, even though it was a really tough competition.
“I didn’t win Miss Peterborough but because the organisers thought I had performed so well there, they offered me the chance of becoming Miss Lincolnshire which left me in a state of shock.”
As Miss Lincolnshire, Alexandra was invited back last week to Moulton Chapel Primary School where she was a pupil until 2007.
“I fell in love with education at Moulton Chapel Primary School so it was wonderful to return there and see all the changes that have occurred since I left,” Alexandra said.
“I’m now focusing on the Face of the Globe pageant where I want to do Lincolnshire proud.”
