Tom Petty - Wildflowers & All The Rest: Album review

The late, great Tom Petty sadly passed away in 2017, aged just 66, but his legacy lives on.

Formerly the lead vocalist and guitarist of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers he had both a string of hits with the band, and as a solo artist.

His most memorable hits are sure to be ‘I Won’t Back Down’ and ‘Free Fallin’.

And now it’s been announced that a new Tom Petty album Wildflowers & All the Rest, is set for release on October 16.

The album gathers together all 25 songs from the original recording sessions - the 15 songs from Wildflowers, plus the ten songs that were left off the original release.

The super deluxe box set includes 15 intimate demos of the songs recorded solo by Tom, plus 14 songs played live by Tom and the Heartbreakers from 1995 to 2017.

It’s a total of 54 songs, including eight unreleased songs and 24 previously unreleased versions.

Wildflowers was Tom Petty’s second solo studio album, released in November 1994.

There’s sure to be something for everyone on this latest release, showcasing what a brilliant artist he was.

The songs are heartfelt, polished and totally timeless.
