Isaac Grinsdale - Entertainment: Four track EP review
This is a truly beautiful four track EP from acoustic alt-rock singer-songwriter Isaac Grinsdale.
It’s full of rich melodies and soothing vocals, with Isaac said to take his inspiration from artists ranging from Damien Rice to Radiohead.
Having performed in numerous rock and hardcore bands over the years, his own music marks a change in direction.
Showcasing his wonderful multi-instrumentalist talent, it’s worth pointing out that he played every note of every instrument on the EP, also mixing the recording himself, and the vocals are his own.
First track ‘The Blind Leading the Blind’, gives you the feeling you are about to take a journey. It’s the sort of music you could imagine listening to while gazing out of the window of a train, letting your mind drift while you take in views of open fields and meandering rivers.
The mood continues with title track ‘Entertainment’, while ‘Nullius in Verba’, meaning ‘take nobody's word for it', is equally chilled out and thought-provoking.
When the album finishes with the nostalgic track ‘Speed of Film’, you are definitely left wanting to hear more.
The EP is available from November 12 via platforms including iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, and Bandcamp.
