ALBUM REVIEW: Dramatic, meaty beats from rising rock band

Marmozettes - Knowing What You Know Now: Out Now

The Marmozets are back with their second album - four years since their first release.

The Yorkshire rock band, comprising of two sets of siblings, is fronted by lead singer Becca MacIntryes.

The album kick starts with a bang with the track ‘Play’.

This song gained extra attention when it was named as Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Scott Mills’ Tune of the Week.

If you’ve heard music from their first album you will recognise the signature drum production which is fantastic.

Dramatic, meaty beats can also be found in the tracks ‘Habit’ and ‘Major System Error’.

‘Me & You’ is beautifully sung and ‘Insomnia’ takes you back to grungy ‘90s rock music.

Both songs allow you to really have a connection with the band and their feelings as they wrote the album.

‘Run with the Rhythm’ is the perfect choice of song to finish the album with and leaves you with a sense of anticipation for their future music.

This album is definitely a more polished production than their last album and it offers an excellent progression in their sound.

The band are currently touring the UK and Europe before heading over to the US later on in the year.
