Holbeach show will feature agility, stalls and some cute dogs too!
Pooches and their owners will be travelling from far and wide to take part in a fundraising dog show over the weekend.
Lincolnshire, Essex, Trent, Wear and Tees Boxer Rescue is looking forward to seeing old friends and new at their first fundraising dog show for two years.
Dogs of all breeds are invited to take part in the various classes which will be taking place at Holbeach United Football Club in Carters Park on Sunday.
Organiser Dawn Nicholls (71), who founded the rescue 30 years ago, is hoping to see a wide variety of dogs and their owners at the event.
She said: “Come along and have some fun!
“This will be one of the first open dog shows in this area for two years and hopefully we are going to have lots of people and dogs.
“People are coming from miles away. People who have adopted our dogs and are coming from Scotland and Wales.
“It is vital to have the money. It is not my money or the rescue money, it is the dogs’ money.
“If we get a dog which is poorly and needs thousands of pounds of veterinary treatment, it is good to have that money. We say yes straight away.”
Gates will be opening at 11am with the show getting underway at noon.
Dawn has organised up to 15 different classes, which range from serious events to fun.
She said: “The first six classes will be the more serious ones. These will be things like the Best Condition.
“But there will be lots of fun classes such as prettiest bitch, the waggiest tail, and the dog the judge would like to take home.”
The event will also include an agility course for anyone who would like to have a go with their dog.
A live auction will be held during the afternoon with furniture going under the hammer.
There will also be a number of stalls.
Sharron Green from PJ Mobile will be acting as the compere for the event.
Food will be available for sale and the bar will also be open during the day.
