Spalding United's friendly match with Peterborough United has been moved to a new date
Spalding United have rescheduled their friendly match with Peterborough United.
The Tulips had been due to host the Championship club at the Sir Halley Stewart ground on Wednesday night (July 28).
However, a change in Posh's pre-season schedule means Spalding have rearranged the match for Wednesday, August 11.
Peterborough will now face Oxford United this Wednesday night after the U's players have been forced to self-isolate which forced the original date of that fixture to be moved.
The Oxford players are due to emerge from isolation on the new date for the matches and the teams are set to play two 90-minute games side-by-side at the League One club's training ground.
A club statement from the Tulips said: "We hope as many people with tickets do still attend the new date as a game of this stature and the revenue it generates is a lifeline to a club like ours in the current climate.
"Everyone's support is hugely appreciated and valued and we hope to see everyone on August 11. We would like to thank everyone at Peterborough in still committing to sending a team to the Sir Halley Stewart.
"We will now be emailing all those who have already purchased tickets with details of the new date. All existing tickets will remain valid for the new date and refund details will also be made available."
Spalding are in action this weekend when they travel to United Counties League side Deeping Rangers on Saturday. Kick-off is 3pm at the Haydon Whitham Stadium.
