TAEKWON-DO: University challenge for students
Students from Spalding's Lone Wolf Taekwon-Do won seven medals at the first British University League Open invitational tournament.
Master Robin Ford, the founder and chief instructor of the club, took 10 students to Loughborough University.
Sparring medal winners were Nikita Rudd (gold), Karina Zokaite (silver), Ethan Peldzius (bronze) and Geordie Potter (bronze).
Patterns medals went to Paul Linter (gold), Potter (silver) and Shakeel Taylor (bronze).
Master Ford was "extremely pleased" with the performance of all his students and is looking forward to seeing everyone compete in their own tournament in September.
The guest of honour was Pioneer First Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha, the 'father' of British taekwon-do.
Meanwhile, eight-year-old Rudd won two gold medals at ITF Union European Championships.
She has trained up to five times a week for the past two years, progressing to red belt.
All the hard work paid off last month when she won two disciplines - patterns and sparring.
New students are always welcome at Master Ford's Lone Wolf Taekwon-Do with the first month's lessons free at The Vista.
