TAE KWON-DO: Carl claims Midlands title

Spalding instructor Carl Grimes won the black belt hand destruction title at the Midlands Tae Kwon-Do Championships.

A total of 13 fighting areas ran throughout the day with more than 800 competitors at Kettering Sports Village.

The Mark Farnham Schools had 70 competitors and more than 50 spectators at the championships.

The students took part in pattern, sparring and team sparring events plus the black belts destruction.

They claimed 29 awards including eight Midlands championships.

The Mark Farnham Schools now look forward to the English Championships in March at Worcester where they have in excess of 1,500 competitors.
