Sunday wins for Market Deeping and Long Sutton but defeats for Bourne and Spalding
Market Deeping thrashed March by 247 runs in their Rutland League division one clash at Outgang Road on Sunday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Deeping amassed a huge total of 337-6 from their 40 overs.
Top scorer was opener and captain Kieran Judd with 78, wicket keeper Sam Malton hit an unbeaten 62, other opener Josh Smith got 39, Nick Green 38, Connor Gillett and James Hook both scored 29 and David Gillett was 12 not out.
In reply, March were all out for 90 in just 22.4 overs, with only three batsmen managing to get into double figures. Karl Green took an impressive 3-8 off 3.4 overs, Joe Pearson returned figures of 3-35, and Jacob Howe 2-28.
In division two, Bourne suffered a three-wicket defeat against Stamford at Abbey Lawn.
The home side won the toss and elected to bat, amassing 183-7 from their 40 overs, captain Sam Evison scoring a wonderful undefeated 122.
But he didn't enjoy the best of support, with only Rowan Good (16) and wicket keeper David Greenfield (12) making double figures.
Stamford knocked off the runs required for the loss of seven wickets and with 3.4 overs remaining. Pick of the Bourne bowlers was Freddie Arlott with an impressive 3-17 off 8 overs, and there was also a wicket each for Henry Brewster, Arya Ranaut and Stanley Watson.
In division three, a Long Sutton batsman hit a last ball six for victory at Ketton Sports. The home side won the toss and decided to bat, recording 264 all out from 38.4 overs. Sutton registered 269-5 from 40 overs.
Also in division three, Spalding were defeated by 14 runs at Oakham, where the home side had won the toss and elected to bat.
They scored 190-4 from their 40 overs, before bowling out the visitors for 176 off 37 overs.
