Spalding Rugby Club are victorious in their match against Boston
Spalding Rugby Club took a mixed squad of 23 players to Boston on Saturday and ran out 44-0 winners in the friendly match.
The game was Luke Turner’s first match as Spalding skipper and they started strongly but found Boston’s defence hard to break down.
Spalding did finally break through and it was Turner who crossed from close range to open the scoring.
Harvey King – who was making his senior debut having turned 17 – then got onto the scoresheet shortly after.
There were also tries for Callum Lewis, Harry Sharman, Conall Mason and Gav Sharman in the first half.
Spalding made changes in the second half but continued to play some cracking rugby with former skipper captain Dan Adams coming up with a hat-trick.
Spalding’s defence was in fine form throughout to ensure they kept a clean sheet.
