Pinchbeck United secure the services of seven players for the new United Counties League Premier Division North season

Pinchbeck United have made a spree of signings as their preparations for the new United Counties League Premier Division North season continue.

Having already secured the services of goalkeeper Alex Smith and defender Neal Spafford from Spalding United, manager Lewis Thorogood has added a quartet of new acquisitions to the Knights' ranks.

Striker Scott Waumsley has put pen to paper for the Knights after previously playing for Yaxley and Deeping Rangers while former Boston Town frontman Harrison Holland has also joined the Knights.

The arrival of Jake Knight will also boost Pinchbeck's firepower with young full-back Nathan Stevens also joining the Knights' ranks.

Thorgood said: "Scott has experience at this level and higher.

"He is talented, skilful, quick and direct and will certainly be scoring goals for us this season.

"Harrison is a strong and direct forward with a good attitude who will be a welcome addition to our forward line.

"Jake is skilful, strong and a determined forward with an eye for goal and I am looking forward to him making his mark this season.

"Nathan is a versatile and combative full back who can play either side and I am really pleased to have someone with such energy in the ranks."

Jack Fixter, Dan Worthington and Finlay Armond have also re-signed for the Knights from last season's squad.

Thorogood added: "Worthy has the club at heart and wants to be successful and I am excited that he shares the same vision and has vast experience at this level.

"Fin is a very talented midfielder who is growing from strength to strength.

"This will be a big season for Fin and will also complement his progression at Boston United."

"I am also delighted to have Jack on board.

"He is physical, no nonsense, direct and knows what I am looking for in a defender. I am looking forward to helping him enjoy his football.

Pinchbeck continue their pre-season preparations on Saturday when they travel to Thurlow Nunn League side Swaffham Town.

Their scheduled match against Holwell Sports tonight (Wednesday) was postponed following consultation between both clubs on a precautionary Covid-19 basis.

Holbeach United - who drew 1-1 at March Town on Tuesday night with a trialist scoring from a penalty after winning the spot kick - are not in action this weekend.

Their next pre-season clash is a trip to Peterborough League Premier Division side Moulton Harrox on Wednesday night (July 21, 7pm kick-off).

Boss Phil Barnes said: "There were positives at March on Tuesday and, although there are some bits still to work on, the fitness levels keep improving with every game.

"We'd had a decent win at Swaffham on Saturday where the second and fourth goals that we scored were really good team goals no matter what level you are playing at so it is slowly coming together for us."
