SPALDING RFC: Town looking to continue home winning streak

Have your say

Spalding RFC v Paviors RFC (Saturday, 3pm): FORTRESS Memorial Field welcomes high-flying Paviors this weekend as Town bid to keep their 100 per cent home record intact.

Spalding are one of just three teams in Midlands One East who are yet to taste defeat on their own turf, but find themselves in the bottom four ahead of this clash.

That’s all down to Town’s woeful away form – and skipper Harry Sharman is baffled by the season so far.

He said: “Some of our away displays have been very poor, I can’t really put my finger on why that is.

“To be fair we’ve had some very tough away trips and we knew it’d be a difficult period.

“Paviors are always a big, strong side. But we nearly beat them in this fixture last year and hopefully our home record will help us.”

Town are without Harry Brown (suspended), Tim Smith (broken hand) and Tom Duerden, but Jordan Andrade is back and Adam McHugh is nearing full fitness.
