SPALDING RFC: Skipper to return

Have your say

Matlock RFC v Spalding RFC (Saturday, 3pm): HARRY Sharman is set to return from a five-week injury lay-off as Town bid to break their away duck.

Town boast a 100 per cent record at the Memorial Field, but have lost both of their games on the road so far.

Third-placed Matlock, who are also unbeaten at home, should prove a tough nut to crack – but Sharman sees no reason why his side can’t take the points.

He said: “I can’t wait to get on the field. I was given the all-clear on Tuesday and hope to be involved.

“Matlock handed us a bit of a beating last year, but we’ve come on a lot as a side and I’m confident we can win.

“The guys deserve a lot of credit for their performance last week (18-17 win over Bedford Athletic). Dave Hankinson, in particular, was outstanding and Jordan Andrade enjoyed a great debut at outside centre.”

Town also welcome back Tom Duerden to their ranks for the trip to Derbyshire.
