SHOT PUT: Lawson Capes achieves staggering throw

Nene Valley Harriers’ Lawson Capes became the only ten-year-old in the country to hit over 10 metres in the shot put.

It came in an open event at Allianz Park in London last Sunday.

Lawson threw a staggering 10.55m, smashing his personal best of 9.16m which he set just two weeks ago.

He is still an under-11 athlete and would probably beat most under-13 age group throwers.

The future is bright for Lawson to follow in elder brother Donovan’s footsteps as he has all of his records to try to surpass.
