The spirit of London 2012 Games is living on in the Sainsbury’s School Games.

Some 40 competitions are taking place in schools across this area this year alone designed to involve young people in competition and sport.

The latest event was a football tournament staged at Spalding’s Sir John Gleed School. Primary schools from across the area sent 150 Year 3 and 4 pupils for a day run by School Games organiser Rupert Gibson, the sports students from the Post 16 Centre and their teacher Nikki Saines.

Despite a foggy day the matches went very smoothly. The standard of play and sportsmanship was outstanding!
