Welland Yacht Club hosted the annual open day on Sunday.

The event was again run in conjunction with the RYA’s Push The Boat Out scheme – giving the opportunity to try sailing.

This also supports South Holland District Council SHout and About Quest which encourages people to try many different activities in the area.

A spokesman said: “There were plenty taking up the invite and finding out what the club has to offer.

“With all age groups willing to give it a go, some were apprehensive at first but then completely taken by the experience by the end of their session – discovering for themselves how tranquil the river can be.”
