Deepings claimed a derby win in the first game of the season - despite having a makeshift side.

Against a heavier pack, they went ahead when Stamford College Old Boys missed a lineout and Chris Owen fed captain Lance Charity to score.

James Hayward and Charity added further tries in the first half while Josh Broome kicked three coversions plus a penalty.
