Spalding RFC stormed to the top of the Midlands Two East (North) table with a fine 32-20 win at Dronfield on Saturday.

Town made it three wins from as many games with an impressive away win in North East Derbyshire, making them just one of two teams with an unblemished record.

They lead second-placed Ashbourne by a point, having picked up one more bonus point than their rivals.

Elsewhere, Deepings suffered a 58-0 home hammering at the hands of Stockwoord Park in Midlands Three East (South). The Green Machine are rock bottom after suffering a third beating on the bounce.

But Bourne did enjoy a 28-10 victory over Ayleston Athletic at Milking Nook Drove in Midlands Four East (South).

Their first win of the season sees Bourne move up to eighth in the early standings.
