FANS of Spalding RFC are being encouraged to pay homage to one the club’s finest ever players on Saturday.
Paddy Wheeler, Town’s top try scorer of all time, has decided to call time on his career after passing his 50th birthday.
As a mark of respect, Wheeler’s final match at the Memorial Field will be a testimonial clash against March.
The kick-off time is yet to be decided, but fans are encouraged to arrive at the club for 12pm at the latest.
Wheeler’s testimonial will be followed by Spalding RFC’s Midlands One East clash with Loughborough (2.15pm), so a cracking afternoon of rugby will be on the cards for all in attendance.
